USGS STATION NUMBER.-- USGS 02293261
LOCATION.-- Lat 26°44'38", long 81°54'59" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.9, T.43 S., R.24 E., Lee County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100103, 325 ft upstream of bridge on U.S. Highway 41, 4.4 mi north of State Road 78, and 8.3 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.-- Indeterminate.
REVISED RECORD.-- WDR FL-03-2A, 2001.
PERIOD OF RECORD.-- 1973 to 1984 (annual maximum gage heights only), June 1984 to current year. Prior to 1984, published as Gator Slough near Ft. Myers, FL. Prior to October 1, 2004, published under 264437081550100.
REMARKS.-- Record fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Zero flow occurs for numerous days during most water years. The 2005 water year data was published in the WRD-US-2006-site 02293261, accessed at http://wdr.water.usgs.gov/.

Continuously recorded gage heights for the past 30 days are compared to daily (mean) gage heights from last year and daily levels for the 2001 drought year.

Description of information presented in the current 30-day hydrograph at GATOR SLOUGH AT US41 (02293261)
The change in daily gage height elevations has not been mathematically correlated to time for the period of record based on operational considerations. Instead of a long-term trend line, the data are, therefore, compared to the zero-slope (flat, linear) regression curve for the existing period of record daily gage height elevations. This approximates, but may not equal, the period of record mean. (Description of statistical methods)

Continuously recorded gage heights for the past 90 days are compared to daily (mean) gage heights from last year, the minimum and maximum daily levels for the corresponding weeks of the year for the site period of record, and daily levels for the 2001 drought year.

Gage heights for the past year are compared to the duration information for the corresponding weeks of the year. The duration statistics are based on a zero-slope linear regression of the data from the past 25 years.
